Are there trees that grow horizontally?

--

Generally not, since to get as much sunlight as possible, the vertical position is much more efficient.

However, there are cases in which trees are forced to lay horizontally due to other factors.

In Greenough, a city in Western Australia, the wind blows so fast that unprotected trees actually grow horizontally to avoid being uprooted.
