Can you build mass and strength from home, without equipment?

--

Hypertrophy is caused by excessive loads on your body that damage the muscle and make it grow back bigger than before. This likely limits the extent to which mass can be built without weights.

On the other hand, it’s definitely possible to increase one’s strength with calisthenics workouts.

This is Yuri Chechi, a 53 years old athlete, that literally humiliates much younger guys with his almost unimaginable movements.

To reach levels even remotely alike, though, years of practice and training are needed.

On the other hand, weight training stimulates the development of strength fibers much quicker, because it increases the motor units that are recruited.
