How roads could be repaired in the future
Feb 11, 2024
Dutch scientists have invented a method that allows roads to repair themselves, thanks to steel wool fibers immersed in the asphalt.
When current flows through the fibers, they dissipate heat capable of melting tar and healing those cracks that, if untreated for a long time, would cause holes and bumps.
This technology could double the longevity of roads and can also be used to charge electric cars through magnetic induction.
