What is a Siberian unicorn?
The Siberian Unicorn was an animal similar to today’s rhinoceros, that lived in Eurasia for 2.6 million years and became extinct about 29,000 years ago.
In addition to Siberian Unicorn (a proper name for obvious reasons) It is also known as “Elasmotherium”.
Like many mammals of that time, it was truly enormous — at least a couple of meters tall at the shoulder and 6 meters long, weighing about 5 tons.
It had longer legs than the current rhino, which suggests that despite its size, it was a skilled runner.
The horn placed on his skull was also gigantic, able to reach two meters in length.
