Why are some walls in England built curved?

Because the curved shape, being made of and supported by arches, requires fewer bricks (only one row instead of two) than a straight wall to be made sturdy.

And as a consequence of this technique, materials, money and time are saved, thanks to the use of fewer bricks.

It is a type of construction characteristic of only a few parts of the United Kingdom.
