When Hulk put it on, the gauntlet started emitting radiation, and it stopped only when he took it off:

Even when Thanos wears the Stark gauntlet, it relentlessly emits radiations.

Note that the radiations disappeared the moment Captain Marvel got her hands on it. Probably because she was absorbing its energy that she then used to resist without the slightest effort to Thanos’ headbutt.

I’m pretty sure that the reason why Thanos’ gauntlet is more powerful, is that it was forged in Uru (the Asgardian metal Mjolnir and Stormbreaker are made of) in the forge of Nidavellir, while Stark’s glove is based just on “simple” nanotechnology.
