Will Marvel and DC ever do a crossover movie?

It is something that James Gunn himself, director of the Guardians of the Galaxy films and the latest Suicide Squad, says he is interested in.

Such an event would be extremely unlikely but not impossible. However, a solution would have to be found to avoid disappointing the fans of both franchises, which is not easy, and there would be quite a few problems with the rights to use the characters and the division of profits.

In short, it’s something difficult, and something we won’t see in cinemas until much later, but technically possible. Kevin Feige himself has not ruled out such a project in the future.

If I had to guess, such a crossover could happen in a little less than a decade, when the ‘superhero fatigue’ will become so high that it will push Marvel and DC to collaborate in order to keep making money.

A decade from now, many of Disney’s superheroes and fictional characters will be in the public domain, partially solving the bureaucratic conundrum that prevents such a film from being made.

Still, it remains an interesting option, also due to the fact that many actors have played roles in both Marvel and DC, which could lead to very interesting and entertaining scenes.
